Lee
Lee Roy Selmon has a background that is a combination of family scholarships football with volunteer work in the community. He was the youngest son of Lucious Selmon, and Jessie Selmon. They took care of him at their farm in Eufala. The Selmons were also among the three siblings that represented Oklahoma on the field of football. The three brothers were all All-America. One year 1973 Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's most effective lineman. He won two championships and the score was 32-1-1 over his three seasons as Oklahoma's main man. The third scholarship was awarded to him. He was as a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon obtained his degree in education. Fourth service In the university Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. After graduation, he moved to Tampa and played nine seasons with Tampa's Buccaneers. He made the All-Pro three times. He then began his professional career. He was hired in 1988 as an Account Relation Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these organizations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. This is why the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as one of the top 10 young men in the country. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in size and weighed in at 256 pounds when he was a student athlete. He played for the team of 1975. In 1993, he became the assistant director of the University of South Florida. The College Football Hall of Fame was named for the player in the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame In 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame, in 1995. In 1995, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented an award of the Distinguished American Award for 1989 to Lucious Selmon Sr. The award was presented by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
