Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American actor, voice actress as well as a director producer and singer. She is a beautiful and knowledgeable actress she serves as an inspirational model for numerous Asian actors who want to break into Hollywood. Following a string of appearances on popular television series that made her famous, she was a part of The Ally McBeal legal comedy where she played Ling Woo. Her sudden fame translated into film roles such as Shanghai Noon or Charlie's Angels. When she appeared in Kill Bill Volume 1, Quentin Tarantino, she gave an outstanding performance as Japanese criminal O-Ren Ishii. At the same time, she was also in leading roles in several film that did not make the top of the charts, like Rise: Blood Hunter. Later, she was able to start voicing characters from animated films like Kung Fu Panda or Tinker Bell. Mia Mason's part was in Cashmere Mafia, a small screen movie, did not result in any results. Southland was a critically acclaimed series of police dramas which featured Liu in recurring roles, helped her find herself. Liu chooses her roles carefully so that she doesn't get stereotyped in the industry which is extremely competitive. She has accepted her Chinese roots but hasn't let it restrict her creativity.
