Salma Hayek
Salma Hayek is a Mexican-American actor who was born to Lebanese-Spanish parents. She came from a Mexican Roman Catholic wealthy family. In her early years her dream was to become an actress after watching the film "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.' While at Mexico City's Universidad Iberoamericana prepared her for the film industry. The first time she was cast as an actor was the Mexican telenovela 'Teresa.' The film she was in featured her in the movie "Desperado" with Antonio Banderas after arriving in Hollywood. In the following years, she starred in "Fools Rush In" and "Wild Wild West", amongst others. Her role was reprised from the film 'Desperado' upon a time in Mexico which was followed by the creation of her own production company 'Ventanarosa.' The first film she produced was the Mexican film, 'El Coronel Teiene Queen Le Escriba in which she became Mexico's official entry at the 'Oscars' in the "Best Foreign Film" category. Her producer's role in "Ugly Betty" was a different accomplishment. The the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards nominated her for "Outstanding Actress in Comedy Series" in the performance of Sofia Reyes. In addition, she has been an endorser for products such as Revlon and Avon' and has launched her own range of skincare, cosmetics and hair care products dubbed Nuance.' She's also a proponent of the campaign to provide vaccines to treat maternal and neonatal Tetanus.
