Her part as Willie Scott (an American nightclub singer and performer) in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), produced by her later husband Steven Spielberg, is her most well-known. She has been in Dreamscape (1984), Power(1986), SpaceCamp(1986), Black Rain (1989), Love Affair (94), Just Cause (1995) and The Love Letter (1999). Capshaw, whose portraiture has been shown in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Capshaw was born Kathleen Sue Nail in Fort Worth Texas. She is the daughter of Beverley Sue Simon (nee Simon), beauty therapist and travel agent along with Edwin Leon Nail, an employee of the airline. She was five years old when she moved to St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Hazelwood Senior High School. Capshaw obtained a degree in education from the University of Missouri, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi. She was the special education teacher at Southern Boone High School Ashland, Missouri and Rock Bridge High School Columbia, Missouri.
